Meetings

Regular meetings are held in the form of Drop-bys and Drop-ins, every first Thursday in the month: 12-2pm at the statue; 2-4pm in the Marina Fountain pub opposite (if there is poor weather the Drop-In at the pub may start earlier). No need to reserve a place: all-comers are welcome. A location map is given below.

These are designed to be deliberately informal and to encourage participative chat and discussion about all things related to Edith, be it specific to her legacy or to wider issues in Anglo-Saxon history or simply heritage or community matters. 

Volunteering

We are always in need of help with the following:

  • Administration of website and social media presences
  • Planning and taking forward projects, events and other works, including physical help with painting, gardening and other activities
  • Mounting funding applications and manning stalls at local events
  • Maintenance/cleaning/weeding of statue and its immediate environment, including help with Statue/Neighbourhood watch schemes
  • Marketing, publicity and promotion of the work of the group.
